UCS is committed to providing an excellent academic education, integrating Biblical principles into all areas of the curriculum. We utilize curriculum from Bob Jones University Press. (Click BJU Press Logo for more info!) It provides a comprehensive curriculum from Preschool through our Middle School department. Reading is emphasized and taught using a strong phonics approach. Mathematics combines the best of modern and traditional systems to provide an excellent mathematical base. Social Studies, English, Science, and Bible classes round out the core curriculum.  All core subjects are taught from a Biblical worldview. Music and Physical Education are a part of the standard elementary curriculum too.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE 

CHAPEL 

​Chapel services are held weekly for 30 minutes at UCS.  Students are lead in prayer, sing praise and worship songs, and listen to a brief message by local pastors and church leaders

​

​​​​​Extended care options are available for students. Before Care is offered from 7 am through 7:45 am. After Care is offered from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.  A snack is provided during the After Care program.  Charges for extended care are $4 per hour and are not prorated.

The school is fully recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education and a member of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). UCS also has a strong athletic program.  UCS is a member of SIJHSAA (Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association) and competes with area Christian and public schools. UCS is also a member of the Quad County Athletic Conference. The QCAC is made up of 10 SIJHSAA schools in Franklin, Jackson, Perry and Williamson counties.
